Nashville, TN – February 21, 2020

Prisoner Transportation Services (PTS), the nation’s largest provider of prisoner extradition services, has announced that it has become a 100% employee-owned company. In a move that’s not common in the prisoner transportation industry, leadership has decided to reward existing and future employees with a stake in the company via the new employee stock ownership plan (ESOP).

With this new structure to the organization, PTS hopes to give a voice and added incentives to its workers, many of whom are veterans, ex-law enforcement, and former correctional officers who have spent several years protecting and serving the people of this country. While the ownership of the company has changed,  leadership is convinced that employee ownership will do nothing but amplify PTS’continuing commitment to safety, timeliness, and efficiency.

As PTS begins this new chapter, the company will remain focused on investing in its employees, as well as state of the art equipment and best practices that allow PTS to continue to be an industry leader, providing superior service to its clients and partners.

For over 20 years, PTS, through its subsidearies, PTS of America, U.S. Corrections and U.S. Prisoner Transport, has supported law enforcement agencies throughout the country in their efforts to protect and serve millions of Americans.  Transporting roughly 30,000 inmates for over 1,200 government agencies each year, PTS moves inmates from one facility to another, taking a public need off the plate of local, state, and federal policing organizations, allowing them to dedicate more time and resources to better serve their communities.
